Since we started bringing you inside these homes, we have walked through fixer-uppers with crumbling plaster and full sea view apartments where the Mediterranean fills the window like a painting. Every single one has taught us something new about what it really means to build a life here, and we love handing that feeling to you through the screen.
This week we are stepping back for just a moment to catch our breath, but before we do, we wanted to share why we started this whole project in the first place, and what keeps us going.
Who We Are and Why We Traded California for Sicily
We are Carlo and Jeia, an American couple who left Northern California behind to build a new life in Sicily. What started as our own personal leap into la dolce vita (the sweet life) turned into something bigger than we expected.
People started asking us how we did it, where to look, and what it actually costs to buy a home here. So we started filming our own property searches and turned them into weekly tours for anyone dreaming of the same move.
Building Affordable Dreams One Sicilian Home at a Time
Our business has evolved quite a bit over the past year and a half. Carlo likes to joke that he retired seven years ago, but there has been no rest for the weary since.
What we focus on is what we call affordable dreams. These are not the gimmicky one euro houses you may have heard about, and they are not mansions for the wealthy either.
We look for homes that are below market value and carry some kind of hidden potential, whether that is a layout that can be reworked, a location about to take off, or simply an owner ready to make a fair deal. That eye comes from decades of experience as a real estate investor, and it is the whole reason we can find these places for regular folks instead of just flippers with deep pockets.

Since December 2024 we have not missed a single week of bringing you inside a new Sicilian property. We have shown you everything from a €25,000 fixer upper in Pettineo to sea view apartments in Santo Stefano di Camastra.
Each tour is a little different, but the goal is always the same. We want you to see the real cost, the real condition, and the real potential of these homes, not just a highlight reel.

What Comes Next After Our Short Breather
This week we are taking a short pause from the weekly tours, but only a short one. We already have several exciting home walkthroughs lined up and ready to share as soon as we are back.

We started this whole journey because we believe buying property in Italy, especially in Sicily, is far more possible than people assume. That belief has not changed one bit over the past year and a half of tours.
Taking this short break just gives us a chance to reset before we bring you even more homes worth dreaming about. The fixer uppers, the hidden gems, and yes, the sea view apartments are all still coming.
