Some of our favorite moments happen before a client ever sets foot in Sicily. This couple found us through our videos, fell for the wraparound balcony and sea view in the heart of Santo Stefano di Camastra, and decided to buy the apartment sight unseen.
That is a real leap of faith. They were living in America, didn’t speak Italian, and had never walked through the front door of the home they were about to own. All they had was our tour, our word, and a lot of trust.
We handled the back and forth with the seller, the paperwork, the Italian bureaucracy that trips up even the most prepared buyers. Our job was to make sure that when they finally arrived, all that was left for them to do was fall in love with the place.
And they did. We were there filming the moment they walked in for the first time, right as the sale was closing, and their reaction said it all.
It was better than even expected. It was so exciting and it just was a perfect experience. The house is going to be wonderful and it’s perfect for us. Certainly the pictures online don’t do it all the justice. Having to deal with all the administrative things here in Italy and not speaking the language very well at all, it would be very difficult for somebody from America to come and do that, and you’ve made it a really good experience for us. Very seamless, smooth, everything was wonderful. We’d do it again in a heartbeat.
Hearing that word, seamless, is exactly why we do this. Buying a home across an ocean, in a language you don’t speak, in a system you don’t know, should not feel like a gamble.
This apartment in the Centro Storico came move-in ready, with a fully equipped kitchen, a separate laundry room, and that rare wraparound balcony overlooking the little street and the sea beyond it. No renovation, no waiting. Just a set of keys and a new life.
Moments like this one remind Jeia and I why we started this. It’s not about the square meters or the view alone, it’s about watching someone stand in their own doorway in Sicily for the first time and realize the dream is actually real.
